I'm going to start off this post by saying a BIG thank you to Ewing Graphics in Farmington! They donated their serviced to wrap our RV for us. It looks great, and is already drawing lots of attention to the run! Tom Ewing took our ideas and this is the design he came up with, and we love it! Thank you Tom and the team at Ewing graphics, you have truly given us a valuable tool to be able to raise more money for wounded veterans!
We are so thankful for our sponsors who have come on board so far, the generosity of strangers, friends, and family continues to amaze us, and we are so thankful for the help!
We had an open house Sunday, and were really blessed by friends family and neighbors who showed up to show their support and make donations, this wouldn't be possible without you all!!
We are leaving in a couple of days for Oregon. Time is flying by now, and I am ready to run!

Wow, time is moving quickly! We are continuing to get ready and finishing up some planning details for the summer. We are all getting excited and looking forward to starting, but with still so much to do it's a little daunting!
We have had some amazing encouragement in the form of some really great sponsors! I could go on and on about the wonderful people who have come forward to help us plan and prepare for our adventure. Donna and I continue to be in awe at the support we have received and the kindness of family, close friends, and strangers!
Bryn Kwaitkowski at Marbletown Electric has provided me with some great gear- shirts and jackets, for training, this has gone a long way in the preparation department,I am running a lot now to get ready for the summer!
Johnston RV in Palmyra did a full walk through of our RV last week, fixed a few things that needed repair, and then took the time to show Donna and I how to run it, and use everything on the RV. that was a HUGE help, and greatly appreciated!!!
We've had some new developments in the graphics and logo department, and Ewing Graphics, in Palmyra has taken all of that off of our hands and are coming up with some great designs right now for the RV. guaranteeing it will look 100 times better than anything we could have come up with ourselves.
Team RWB has generously offered to provide my shoes for the run, this is a huge donation as there will be many miles to cover!
I'll make sure to keep you updated and write more about my sponsors as time goes on.
I'll make sure to post pictures of all of our preparations as soon as we figure whats wrong the camera!
I am so grateful to everyone who is donating to the run! without you none of this could be possible, and saying a big Thank you just doesn't seem like enough! I'm really looking forward to getting out there at the end of the month and raising some money for two great charities!
My training schedule is going well, I'm pretty much running in all my spare time, and with finals and my graduation coming up it feels like all I'm doing is studying and running!
Sunday we all headed to Syracuse and I ran with Team RWB in The mountain goat run, it's always inspiring running with these Veterans, and it was a great race!

I'm feeling pretty blessed right now and enjoying every minute of it!

This was a productive week for the run, We now have a great RV for our trip this summer. it has everything we need, and will enable Donna to provide much needed support while I am running.
Also Johnson RV in Palmyra, has generously offered their time to service the vehicle to make sure it is road ready, and walk us through the "in's and out's" of running the RV. Which will be a big help as we are pretty much clueless when it comes to the vehicle.
Monday Donna and I are headed to NYC to do an interview with the BBC, they will air a short recording about Reason to run 2012 shortly before I start running. It will be broadcast on Radio Wales.
It will be a busy week coming up, thanks for all your support, and I look forward to starting the run, and hopefully seeing a lot of you along the way!

Challenge For you!
I thought I would put out a personal challenge to all of you, this could be a way for you to have fun, while helping me out =) Also to hopefully raise lots of money for Reason to run 2012.
With spring here most towns and cities are hosting races, from 5ks to marathons. I'm a big advocate in participating in local runs and events, these are often are a great way to meet other runners, get involved in your community, and give to a great cause! I would love for all my followers and supporters, friends and family to sign up for a local race, and get sponsored to run this race to benefit "Reason to run 2012". Then donate your proceeds to Reason to run 2012 (by clicking on my paypal button!) I'm working on getting some t-shirts, let me know if you are interested in one for your race day!
When you sign up for your run let me know by commenting below, or send me an e-mail at Seanedmunds9@yahoo.co.uk.
I would love to see 100 people out there doing this. And who knows, this may turn you into an avid runner!
Tips for getting sponsored:
1. Family are always willing to give $10 to a good cause...Right??
2. Neighbors and friends may try to outdo each other, in support of you!
3. Come up with a wacky costume, or way to stand out, often you will find people willing to give a few dollars to watch you make fun of yourself!
I'm looking forward to hearing your stories, and seeing pictures!

New sponsor and a change to the route!
Well It's been an exciting week for me as I have been trying to juggle school, family and planning for the run. I am pleased to announce that I have gained a new sponsor! My athlete live has very generously offered their services to track my run.. You can check their website at http://www.myathletelive.com They will provide me with a small GPS tracking device that will allow you to know where I am along the route this summer. The device will also share information on my speed and elevation.
I have also tweaked my route a little this week so as to make it a little more manageable and hit some key places where people have offered to come out and support me along the way. I will now be starting a little further south from Cannon beach Oregon, and ending at the aptly named Slaughter beach in Delaware for a total of 3026 miles. click on this link to check out the route on Google maps. Thank you for all the support I have been receiving! people have been very encouraging, which is a great motivator, I'm anticipating a grueling summer, but am looking forward to the challenge, and getting this opportunity to "give back" a little, means a lot to me and my family.

Where did the winter go!
Well it has been a crazy week. Last week I officially finished my B.S in Religion and had a week off of school before starting my Graduate courses tomorrow! I think it is safe to say we made the most of the week and the beautiful March sunshine! Last Saturday I got to run in the Syracuse Shamrock run with Team Red White and Blue. It was a great event and I really enjoyed meeting up with other veterans and TRWB supporters. On Monday I had my final Ski lesson with Oasis and am proud to say I made it down a black diamond slope successfully!! On Wednesday My family and I got to go ice skating with Oasis in their new program in association with the Rochester Amerks Alumni. We will be going again next week and we had a really great time. If you look at the picture above of me and Jonah skating you will see all the gear that has been very kindly given to us through the program. The rest of the week has been filled with a trip to the Syracuse zoo, picnics, playing in the back yard and lots of training miles for me. I am really feeling well prepared physically for the run and am looking forward to running my first Boston Marathon on April 16. Thanks again for all the support and I would just like to ask for prayers for health and wisdom as we try to wrap up all the planning and get ready to hit the road in May. We still need to hit some goals financially, and we are still hoping to get an RV, lots of people have suggested ways to possibly get an RV for the summer, so we're still working on that! The support has been incredible, lots of people are interested in what we are doing, and have been very encouraging, now I just can't wait to start running!
